Other Notes

Small volumes of THPO elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for THPO purchase

MBS824869 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Thrombopoietin (THPO) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing THPO. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS824869 kit is based on THPO antibody-THPO antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect THPO antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, THPO. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for THPO

This gene encodes a humoral growth factor necessary for megakaryocyte proliferation and maturation, as well as for thrombopoiesis. The encoded protein is a ligand for the product of the myeloproliferative leukemia virus oncogene. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

UniProt Comments for THPO

THPO: Lineage-specific cytokine affecting the proliferation and maturation of megakaryocytes from their committed progenitor cells. It acts at a late stage of megakaryocyte development. It may be the major physiological regulator of circulating platelets. Defects in THPO are the cause of thrombocythemia type 1 (THCYT1). A myeloproliferative disorder characterized by elevated platelet levels due to sustained proliferation of megakaryocytes, and frequently lead to thrombotic and haemorrhagic complications. Belongs to the EPO/TPO family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Cytokine; Cell cycle regulation; Secreted

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region

Molecular Function: hormone activity; cytokine activity; receptor binding

Biological Process: cell proliferation; positive regulation of protein kinase B signaling cascade; myeloid cell differentiation; positive regulation of megakaryocyte differentiation; positive regulation of protein amino acid phosphorylation
