Other Notes

Small volumes of CHI3L1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS824898 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the YKL-40 (CHI3L1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CHI3L1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS824898 kit is based on CHI3L1 antibody-CHI3L1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CHI3L1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CHI3L1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for CHI3L1

CHI3L1: Carbohydrate-binding lectin with a preference for chitin. May play a role in defense against pathogens, or in tissue remodeling. May play an important role in the capacity of cells to respond to and cope with changes in their environment. A genetic variation in CHI3L1 is associated with susceptibility to asthma-related traits type 7 (ASRT7). Asthma-related traits include clinical symptoms of asthma, such as coughing, wheezing and dyspnea, bronchial hyperresponsiveness (BHR) as assessed by methacholine challenge test, serum IgE levels, atopy, and atopic dermatitis. Belongs to the glycosyl hydrolase 18 family.

Protein type: Cell adhesion; Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Cellular Component: extracellular space; endoplasmic reticulum; cytoplasm; extracellular region

Molecular Function: chitin binding; chitinase activity; hydrolase activity, hydrolyzing O-glycosyl compounds

Biological Process: positive regulation of protein kinase B signaling cascade; positive regulation of angiogenesis; apoptosis; carbohydrate metabolic process; activation of NF-kappaB-inducing kinase; immune response; chitin catabolic process; inflammatory response; lung development
