Other Notes

Small volumes of MERTK elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for MERTK purchase

MBS824954 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the MERTK, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing MERTK. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS824954 kit is based on MERTK antibody-MERTK antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MERTK antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MERTK. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for MERTK

Mer: a proto-oncogene receptor tyrosine-protein kinase of the Axl family. Binds several ligands including LGALS3, Tubby, TULP1 or GAS6. Regulates many physiological processes including cell survival, migration, differentiation, and phagocytosis of apoptotic cells (efferocytosis). Functions in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) as a regulator of rod outer segments fragments phagocytosis. Plays also an important role in inhibition of Toll-like receptors (TLRs)-mediated innate immune response by activating STAT1, which selectively induces production of suppressors of cytokine signaling SOCS1 and SOCS3

Protein type: Kinase, protein; Oncoprotein; Membrane protein, integral; Protein kinase, tyrosine (receptor); EC 2.7.10.1; Protein kinase, TK; TK group; Axl family

Cellular Component: extracellular space; photoreceptor outer segment; membrane; cell; cytoplasm; integral to membrane; intracellular

Molecular Function: transferase activity; protein-tyrosine kinase activity; transferase activity, transferring phosphorus-containing groups; nucleotide binding; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activity; kinase activity; ATP binding; protein kinase activity

Biological Process: negative regulation of lymphocyte activation; platelet activation; vagina development; protein amino acid phosphorylation; phagocytosis; natural killer cell differentiation; retina development in camera-type eye; positive regulation of phagocytosis; protein kinase B signaling cascade; spermatogenesis; phosphorylation; apoptotic cell clearance; secretion by cell
