The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing MPO. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS825036 kit is based on MPO antibody-MPO antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MPO antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MPO. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. MPO: Part of the host defense system of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. It is responsible for microbicidal activity against a wide range of organisms. In the stimulated PMN, MPO catalyzes the production of hypohalous acids, primarily hypochlorous acid in physiologic situations, and other toxic intermediates that greatly enhance PMN microbicidal activity. Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Each monomer consists of a light and a heavy chain. Belongs to the peroxidase family. XPO subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
