CRTH2 Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS845942

Polyclonal Antibody against AGTR3.The chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on Th2 cells (CRTH2) is a recently identified receptor for the prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) in addition to the classic prostaglandin D receptor. CRTH2 is expressed on Th2… More details

NCBI Summary for CRTH2

This gene encodes a G-protein-coupled receptor that is preferentially expressed in CD4+ effector T helper 2 (Th2) cells. This protein is a prostaglandin D2 receptor that mediates the pro-inflammatory chemotaxis of eosinophils, basophils, and Th2 lymphocytes generated during allergic inflammation. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in the 3' UTR of this gene have been associated with asthma susceptibility.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

UniProt Comments for CRTH2

GPR44: Receptor for prostaglandin D2 (PGD2). Coupled to the G(i)-protein. Receptor activation may result in pertussis toxin- sensitive decreases in cAMP levels and Ca(2+) mobilization. PI3K signaling is also implicated in mediating PTGDR2 effects. PGD2 induced receptor internalization. CRTH2 internalization can be regulated by diverse kinases such as, PKC, PKA, ADRBK1/GRK2, GPRK5/GRK5 and GRK6. Receptor activation is responsible, at least in part, in immune regulation and allergic/inflammation responses. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q12.2

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; neuron projection; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; neuropeptide binding; prostaglandin D receptor activity

Biological Process: calcium-mediated signaling; chemotaxis; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; G-protein signaling, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger; immune response; neuropeptide signaling pathway; synaptic transmission
