CD79a Antibody – Rabbit Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS847455

A disulphide-linked heterodimer, consisting of mb-1 (or CD79a) and B29 (or CD79b) polypeptides, is non-covalently associated with membrane-bound immunoglobulins on B cells. This complex of mb-1 and B29 polypeptides and immunoglobulin constitute the B cell Ag… More details

NCBI Summary for CD79a

The B lymphocyte antigen receptor is a multimeric complex that includes the antigen-specific component, surface immunoglobulin (Ig). Surface Ig non-covalently associates with two other proteins, Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, which are necessary for expression and function of the B-cell antigen receptor. This gene encodes the Ig-alpha protein of the B-cell antigen component. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Surface Ig non-covalently associates with 2 other proteins, Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, which are necessary for expression and function of the B-cell antigen receptor. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Immunoglobulin superfamily

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.2
