Other Notes

Small volumes of PRSS7 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for PRSS7 purchase

MBS920466 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the protease, serine, 7 (enterokinase) (PRSS7) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PRSS7. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS920466 kit is based on PRSS7 antibody-PRSS7 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PRSS7 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PRSS7. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PRSS7

This gene encodes an enzyme that converts the pancreatic proenzyme trypsinogen to trypsin, which activates other proenzymes including chymotrypsinogen and procarboxypeptidases. The precursor protein is cleaved into two chains that form a heterodimer linked by a disulfide bond. This protein is a member of the trypsin family of peptidases. Mutations in this gene cause enterokinase deficiency, a malabsorption disorder characterized by diarrhea and failure to thrive. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for PRSS7

PRSS7: Responsible for initiating activation of pancreatic proteolytic proenzymes (trypsin, chymotrypsin and carboxypeptidase A). It catalyzes the conversion of trypsinogen to trypsin which in turn activates other proenzymes including chymotrypsinogen, procarboxypeptidases, and proelastases. Defects in TMPRSS15 are a cause of enterokinase deficiency (ENTKD); a life-threatening intestinal malabsorption disorder characterized by diarrhea and failure to thrive. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family.

Protein type: Protease; EC 3.4.21.9; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 21q21.1

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; brush border

Molecular Function: serine-type endopeptidase activity; scavenger receptor activity

Biological Process: receptor-mediated endocytosis; proteolysis
