Other Notes

Small volumes of MIA1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS092307 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Melanoma Inhibitory Activity Protein 1 (MIA1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing MIA1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS092307 kit is based on MIA1 antibody-MIA1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MIA1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MIA1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for MIA1

MIA3: Required for collagen VII (COL7A1) secretion by loading COL7A1 into transport carriers. May participate in cargo loading of COL7A1 at endoplasmic reticulum exit sites by binding to COPII coat subunits Sec23/24 and guiding SH3-bound COL7A1 into a growing carrier. Does not play a role in global protein secretion and is apparently specific to COL7A1 cargo loading. However, it may participate in secretion of other proteins in cells that do not secrete COL7A1. Belongs to the MIA/OTOR family. Tango1 subfamily. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Endoplasmic reticulum; Membrane protein, integral; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q41

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum membrane; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: protein transport; exocytosis; collagen fibril organization; wound healing; positive regulation of leukocyte migration; chondrocyte development; negative regulation of cell adhesion; positive regulation of bone mineralization; negative regulation of cell migration
