Other Notes

Small volumes of FSTL3 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS935010 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the follistatin-like 3 (secreted glycoprotein) (FSTL3) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing FSTL3. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS935010 kit is based on FSTL3 antibody-FSTL3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FSTL3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FSTL3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for FSTL3

Follistatin-like 3 is a secreted glycoprotein of the follistatin-module-protein family. It may have a role in leukemogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for FSTL3

FSTL3: Isoform 1 or the secreted form is a binding and antagonizing protein for members of the TGF-beta family, such us activin, BMP2 and MSTN. Inhibits activin A-, activin B-, BMP2- and MSDT-induced cellular signaling; more effective on activin A than on activin B. Involved in bone formation; inhibits osteoclast differentiationc. Involved in hematopoiesis; involved in differentiation of hemopoietic progenitor cells, increases hematopoietic cell adhesion to fibronectin and seems to contribute to the adhesion of hematopoietic precursor cells to the bone marrow stroma. Isoform 2 or the nuclear form is probably involved in transcriptional regulation via interaction with MLLT10. A chromosomal aberration involving FSTL3 is found in a case of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Translocation t(11;19)(q13;p13) with CCDN1. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative initiation.

Protein type: Oncoprotein; Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; Golgi apparatus; extracellular space; extracellular region; nucleus; secretory granule

Molecular Function: protein binding; fibronectin binding; activin binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of osteoclast differentiation; ossification; transcription, DNA-dependent; adrenal gland development; male gonad development; negative regulation of BMP signaling pathway; regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; negative regulation of activin receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of cell-cell adhesion; hemopoietic progenitor cell differentiation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; spermatogenesis; kidney development; lung development
