Other Notes

Small volumes of ENOX2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS943476 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the ecto-NOX disulfide-thiol exchanger 2 (ENOX2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ENOX2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS943476 kit is based on ENOX2 antibody-ENOX2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ENOX2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ENOX2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for ENOX2

This gene is a tumor-specific member of the ECTO-NOX family of genes that encode cell surface NADH oxidases. The encoded protein has two enzymatic activities: catalysis of hydroquinone or NADH oxidation, and protein disulfide interchange. The protein also displays prion-like properties. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]

UniProt Comments for ENOX2

ENOX2: May be involved in cell growth. Probably acts as a terminal oxidase of plasma electron transport from cytosolic NAD(P)H via hydroquinones to acceptors at the cell surface. Hydroquinone oxidase activity alternates with a protein disulfide- thiol interchange/oxidoreductase activity which may control physical membrane displacements associated with vesicle budding or cell enlargement. The activities oscillate with a period length of 22 minutes and play a role in control of the ultradian cellular biological clock. Belongs to the ENOX family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Oxidoreductase; EC 1.-.-.-; Cytoskeletal; Cell surface

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq25

Cellular Component: extracellular space; cytosol; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: nucleic acid binding; nucleotide binding; protein disulfide oxidoreductase activity

Biological Process: regulation of growth; cell growth; ultradian rhythm
