Other Notes

Small volumes of Sstr4 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for Sstr4

SSTR4: Receptor for somatostatin-14. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which inhibits adenylyl cyclase. It is functionally coupled not only to inhibition of adenylate cyclase, but also to activation of both arachidonate release and mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase cascade. Mediates antiproliferative action of somatostatin in tumor cells. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR

Cellular Component: neuron projection; membrane; integral to plasma membrane; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; neuropeptide binding; protein binding; signal transducer activity; somatostatin receptor activity

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; synaptic transmission; G-protein signaling, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; cell migration; positive regulation of MAPKKK cascade; neuropeptide signaling pathway; behavior; negative regulation of cAMP metabolic process; arachidonic acid metabolic process; signal transduction
