BTBD15 ELISA Kits
The BTBD proteins contain an amino terminal BTB/POZ domain as well as a C-terminal region that is related to proteins that contain the kelch domain. Although the BTBD proteins are distantly related to kelch proteins, they lack the residues that are characteristic of kelch repeats, a double glycine sequence and atyrosine separated from a tryptophan by precisely 6 residues. BTBD1 and BTBD2 are closely related sharing 80% identical amino acid sequence. A study reported the characterization of BTBD1 and BTBD2 subcellular localization. In a number of mouse and human cells, BTBD1 and BTBD2 (BTBD1/2) colocalized to punctate or elongated cytoplasmic bodies (< 5 microm long and several per cell) that were larger and more elongated in cancer cell lines than in fibroblasts and myoblasts. Both BTBD1 and BTBD2 are widely if not ubiquitously expressed in human tissues. BTBD1 mRNA was highly expressed in testes, heart and skeletal muscle whereas BTBD2 was more highly ex-pressed in skeletal muscle. BTBD1 and BTBD2 were also expressed in a large number of tumor types and normal tissues present in SAGE (serial analysis of gene expression) libraries.
A study aimed to investigate the relationship between BTB/POZ domain-containing protein 7 (BTBD7) and fibronectin (FN) expression in salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma (SACC) and the function of BTBD7 in proliferation, migration, and invasion of SACC cells. The results indicate that BTBD7 was inversely associated with FN expression in SACC. BTBD7 may inhibit FN expression, but it promotes the proliferation, migration, and invasion of SACC-LM cells. Hence, BTBD7 may be associated with metastasis and a new therapeutic target for intervention of SACC.
