Cyss ELISA Kits

Cyss gene encodes a class 1 aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase, cysteinyl-tRNA synthetase. Each of the twenty aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyzes the aminoacylation of a specific tRNA or tRNA isoaccepting family with the cognate amino acid. This gene is one of several located near the imprinted gene domain on chromosome 11p15.5, an important tumor-suppressor gene region. Alterations in this region have been associated with Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome. This enzyme belongs to the family of ligases, to be specific those forming carbon-oxygen bonds in aminoacyl-tRNA and related compounds. Cysteine-tRNA ligase (also known as Cysteinyl-tRNA synthetase) (EC:6.1.1.16) is an alpha monomer and belongs to class Ia. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. Ubiquitous expression in thyroid, brain and 25 other tissues. It is highly specific despite not possessing the amino acid editing activity characteristic of many other tRNA ligases. The 3 substrates of this enzyme are ATP, L-cysteine, and tRNA(Cys), whereas its 3 products are AMP, diphosphate, and L-cysteinyl-tRNA(Cys).

This enzyme participates in cysteine metabolism and aminoacyl-trna biosynthesis. Catalyse the attachment of an amino acid to its cognate transfer RNA molecule in a highly specific two-step reaction. These proteins differ widely in size and oligomeric state, and have limited sequence homology. The 20 aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are divided into two classes, I and II. Class I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases contain a characteristic Rossman fold catalytic domain and are mostly monomeric. Class II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases share an anti-parallel beta-sheet fold flanked by alpha-helices, and are mostly dimeric or multimeric, containing at least three conserved regions. Wilms tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, and lung, ovarian and breast cancers.
