TXA2 ELISA Kit for General

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Special Promotion Catalog #: MBS2516211
SPECIAL PROMOTIONAL PRICING for a limited time

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Competitive-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with TXA2. During the reaction, TXA2 in the sample or standard competes with a fixed amount of TXA2 on the solid phase… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of TXA2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for TXA2 purchase

MBS2516211 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the TXA2, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing TXA2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2516211 kit is based on TXA2 antibody-TXA2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TXA2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TXA2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for TXA2

This gene encodes a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family. The protein interacts with thromboxane A2 to induce platelet aggregation and regulate hemostasis. A mutation in this gene results in a bleeding disorder. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

UniProt Comments for TXA2

TXA2-R: Receptor for thromboxane A2 (TXA2), a potent stimulator of platelet aggregation. The activity of this receptor is mediated by a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. In the kidney, the binding of TXA2 to glomerular TP receptors causes intense vasoconstriction. Activates phospholipase C. Isoform 1 activates adenylyl cyclase. Isoform 2 inhibits adenylyl cyclase. Defects in TBXA2R are the cause of susceptibility to bleeding disorder platelet-type 13 (BDPLT13). BDPLT13 is a disorder characterized by reduced platelet aggregation and a tendency to mild mucocutaneous bleeding. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, integral; GPCR, family 1

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; acrosome; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity; thromboxane A2 receptor activity

Biological Process: second-messenger-mediated signaling; response to drug; platelet activation; response to lipopolysaccharide; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; positive regulation of angiogenesis; positive regulation of vasoconstriction; positive regulation of smooth muscle contraction; blood coagulation; inflammatory response; positive regulation of blood pressure; response to nutrient; positive regulation of GTPase activity
