Full Product Name
Fibroblast Growth Factor 22, Recombinant, Human (FGF22)
Product Gene Name
Sequence
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be
Thr- Pro-Ser-Al a-Ser.
Host
E Coli
Form/Format
Supplied as a lyophilized powder without additives. Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Recombinant Human FGF-22 sterile 18M -cm H2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Purity/Purification
Highly Purified
95% as determined by RP-HPLC, anion-exchange FPLC and/or reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile dH2O or buffer of choice and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Biological Activity
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using IEC6 cell line (20ng/ml can stimulate the cell proliferation of IEC6 cell line).
Dimers and Aggregates
1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.
Endotoxin Level
0.1ng/ug (IEU/ug) of Recombinant Human FGF-22.

Other Notes

Small volumes of FGF22 active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for FGF22

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. The mouse homolog of this gene was found to be preferentially expressed in the inner root sheath of the hair follicle, which suggested a role in hair development. [provided by RefSeq]
