Other Notes

Small volumes of MAdCAM-1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS735007 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Mucosal vascular addressin cell adhesion molecule 1 (MAdCAM-1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing MAdCAM-1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS735007 kit is based on MAdCAM-1 antibody-MAdCAM-1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MAdCAM-1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MAdCAM-1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for MAdCAM-1

The protein encoded by this gene is an endothelial cell adhesion molecule that interacts preferentially with the leukocyte beta7 integrin LPAM-1 (alpha4beta7), L-selectin, and VLA-4 (alpha4beta1) on myeloid cells to direct leukocytes into mucosal and inflamed tissues. It is a member of the immunoglobulin family and is similar to ICAM1 and VCAM1. At least seven alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different protein isoforms have been found for this gene, but the full-length nature of some variants has not been determined. UniProt Comments for MAdCAM-1

MADCAM1: Cell adhesion leukocyte receptor expressed by mucosal venules, helps to direct lymphocyte traffic into mucosal tissues including the Peyer patches and the intestinal lamina propria. It can bind both integrin alpha-4/beta-7 and L-selectin, regulating both the passage and retention of leukocytes. Isoform 2, lacking the mucin-like domain, may be specialized in supporting integrin alpha-4/beta-7-dependent adhesion strengthening, independent of L- selectin binding. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3

Cellular Component: membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Biological Process: integrin-mediated signaling pathway; regulation of immune response; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; cell-matrix adhesion; positive regulation of leukocyte migration; signal transduction; receptor clustering; keratinocyte differentiation; heterotypic cell-cell adhesion; immune response; leukocyte tethering or rolling; cell adhesion; aging
