Uroplakin-3a (UPK3A) ELISA Kit for Mouse

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS285309

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate UPK3A in samples. An antibody specific for UPK3A has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyUPK3A present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of UPK3A elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS285309 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Uroplakin-3a (UPK3A) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing UPK3A. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS285309 kit is based on UPK3A antibody-UPK3A antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect UPK3A antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, UPK3A. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for UPK3A

UPK3A: Component of the asymmetric unit membrane (AUM); a highly specialized biomembrane elaborated by terminally differentiated urothelial cells. May play an important role in AUM-cytoskeleton interaction in terminally differentiated urothelial cells. It also contributes to the formation of urothelial glycocalyx which may play an important role in preventing bacterial adherence. Defects in UPK3A are a cause of renal adysplasia (RADYS); also known as renal agenesis or renal aplasia. Renal agenesis refers to the absence of one (unilateral) or both (bilateral) kidneys at birth. Bilateral renal agenesis belongs to a group of perinatally lethal renal diseases, including severe bilateral renal dysplasia, unilateral renal agenesis with contralateral dysplasia and severe obstructive uropathy. Belongs to the uroplakin-3 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
