TRK-fused gene ELISA Kits
The neurotrophic tyrosine kinase-1 receptor is encoded by gene NTRK1. It belongs to a family of nerve growth factor receptors whose ligands include neurotrophins. Biased expression in adrenal, testis and 10 other tissues. Three alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene have been characterized out of many variants. Other neurotrophins are brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), neurotrophin-3 (NTF3), and neurotrophin-4 (NTF4). By association with higher molecular mass, low-affinity neurotrophin receptors, namely the tropomyosin receptor kinases, TRKA (NTRK1), TRKB (NTRK2;), and TRKC (NTRK3) NGFR can achieve higher affinity binding. NTF4 and BDNF, and NTF3 prefers binding to TRKA, TRKB, and TRKC respectively. Binding between NTF3 to TRKA and TRKB has been observed but with significantly lower affinity
Neurotrophins and their receptors play an important role in regulating development of both the central and the peripheral nervous system. Neurotrophin binding to the protein kinase, a membrane bound receptor, activates it to phosphorylate itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Congenital insensitivity to pain, anhidrosis, self-mutilating behavior, cognitive disability and cancer have been associated with mutations in this gene.
