ELISA (EIA)

Immunofluorescence (IF) of anti-AEN antibody

Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with MBS1496239 at 1:530,counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4 degree C.The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L).

UniProt Comments for AEN

AEN: Exonuclease with activity against single- and double- stranded DNA and RNA. Mediates p53-induced apoptosis. When induced by p53 following DNA damage, digests double-stranded DNA to form single-stranded DNA and amplifies DNA damage signals, leading to enhancement of apoptosis. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Apoptosis; Nucleolus; EC 3.1.-.-; Hydrolase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q26.1

Cellular Component: nuclear membrane; nucleolus; nucleoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: exonuclease activity; nucleic acid binding; protein binding

Biological Process: DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator resulting in induction of apoptosis; response to ionizing radiation
