Specificity
This item recognises mouse CD253, also known as TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand or TRAIL, a member of the tumour necrosis factor ligand superfamily. When bound to the death receptors DR4 and DR5 caspase-8-dependent apoptosis is induced. However, CD253 might also be bound by the decoy receptor DcR1 which cannot induce apoptosis, and DcR2 which activates NF-kappa-B.

Clone N2B2 has been reported to block NK cell cytotoxicity in vitro.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

Application Notes for anti-CD253 antibody
Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul.
Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/5; Maximum Dilution: 1/10

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CD253 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for CD253

TRAIL: Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF10A/TRAILR1, TNFRSF10B/TRAILR2, TNFRSF10C/TRAILR3, TNFRSF10D/TRAILR4 and possibly also to TNFRSF11B/OPG. Induces apoptosis. Its activity may be modulated by binding to the decoy receptors TNFRSF10C/TRAILR3, TNFRSF10D/TRAILR4 and TNFRSF11B/OPG that cannot induce apoptosis. Homotrimer. Widespread; most predominant in spleen, lung and prostate. Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytokine; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: extracellular space; membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: cytokine activity; tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily binding; tumor necrosis factor receptor binding

Biological Process: apoptosis; positive regulation of apoptosis; positive regulation of caspase activity; immune response
