IKBKB Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS240977

IKKbeta, an IKAPPAB -type protein kinase, is a member of the multimeric IkappaB kinase complex. This complex, often consisting of IKKalpha/IKKbeta heterodimers plus regulatory IKKgamma subunits, phosphorylates IkappaB proteins, marking them for destruction… More details

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-IKBKB antibody

Anti-IKBKB / IKK Beta antibody IHC of human placenta. Immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue after heat-induced antigen retrieval. Antibody dilution 1:500.
Rabbit Anti-IKBKB Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS240977

Western Blot (WB) of anti-IKBKB antibody

Anti-IKKbeta Antibody - Western Blot. Western blot of anti-IKKbeta antibody reacted with HeLa cell extract. All incubations except color development were performed using TBS supplemented with 0.1% Tween-20 at room temperature. The membrane was blocked in 5% dry milk for 2 h. After washing, a 1:500 dilution of the primary antibody was added to the membrane and incubated for 2 h. Washes with buffer were performed 4 times for 5 each. The western blot was incubated with secondary antibody (HRP Goat-a-Rabbit IgG [H&L]) diluted 1:2000 for 1h. Washes with TBS preceded color development.

NCBI Summary for IKBKB

The protein encoded by this gene phosphorylates the inhibitor in the inhibitor/NF-kappa-B complex, causing dissociation of the inhibitor and activation of NF-kappa-B. The encoded protein itself is found in a complex of proteins. Several transcript variants, some protein-coding and some not, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

UniProt Comments for IKBKB

IKKB: a kinase of the IKK family. Phosphorylates inhibitors of NF-kappa-B thus leading to the dissociation of the inhibitor/NF-kappa-B complex and ultimately the degradation of the inhibitor. Preferentially found as a heterodimer with IKK-alpha but also as an homodimer.
