Immunogen Type
Recombinant protein
Immunogen
INA / Alpha Internexin antibody was raised against recombinant alpha-internexin expressed in and purified from E Coli.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-INA antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes for anti-INA antibody
ICC (1:500 - 1:1000), IF (1:500 - 1:1000), IHC-P (1:100), WB (1:20000)
Usage: The serum can be diluted to 1:500-1:1000 for immunofluorescence staining and 1:10000-1:20000 for western blotting. On western blots look for a major band at 64 to 66kDa, depending on the species, the human protein being a little larger than that from...

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-INA antibody

Anti-INA / Alpha Internexin antibody IHC staining of human brain, cerebellum. Immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue after heat-induced antigen retrieval. Antibody dilution 1:100.
Rabbit Anti-INA Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS248672

Immunocytochemistry (ICC) of anti-INA antibody

Mixed neuron-glial cultures stained with rabbit antibody to alpha-internexin (red) and chicken antibody to peripherin (green). The alpha internexin antibody stains numerous axonal and dendritic profiles in these cultures, while peripherin antibody binds to only a subset of neurons.
Rabbit Anti-INA Polyclonal Antibody, Immunocytochemistry (ICC) – Cat# MBS248672

Western Blot (WB) of anti-INA antibody

Western blot of whole rat spinal cord homogenate stained with INA / Alpha Internexin antibody, at dilution of 1:20,000. A prominent band running at ~66kDa is apparent, as well as smaller lower bands which are apparently degradation products. A minor band at ~150kDa is also seen, apparently resulting from dimerization of alpha-internexin.
Rabbit Anti-INA Polyclonal Antibody, Western Blot (WB) – Cat# MBS248672

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-INA antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for INA

Neurofilaments are type IV intermediate filament heteropolymers composed of light, medium, and heavy chains. Neurofilaments comprise the axoskeleton and they functionally maintain the neuronal caliber. They may also play a role in intracellular transport to axons and dendrites. This gene is a member of the intermediate filament family and is involved in the morphogenesis of neurons. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]

UniProt Comments for INA

INA: Class-IV neuronal intermediate filament that is able to self-assemble. It is involved in the morphogenesis of neurons. It may form an independent structural network without the involvement of other neurofilaments or it may cooperate with NF-L to form the filamentous backbone to which NF-M and NF-H attach to form the cross-bridges. Belongs to the intermediate filament family.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q24.33

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; extracellular space; intermediate filament cytoskeleton; nuclear membrane; neurofilament

Molecular Function: structural constituent of cytoskeleton

Biological Process: substantia nigra development; neurofilament cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; cell differentiation
