This human KL-6 ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Krebs von den Lungen-6, a high-molecular-weight MUC1 glycoprotein biomarker, in human serum and plasma samples from patients with interstitial lung disease and related fibrotic pulmonary conditions.

This kit is intended to be used to determine the level of KL-6 (hereafter termed "analyte") in undiluted original Human serum, plasma or tissue homogenates samples. For other sample types please contact tech support to determine compatibility with this assay. This kit is not suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances.

Small volumes of KL-6 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing KL-6. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS026021 kit is based on KL-6 antibody-KL-6 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect KL-6 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, KL-6. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%). This product is a highly sensitive sandwich ELISA assay kit for detecting and quantifying human krebs von den lungen 6. In this indirect krebs von den lungen 6 ELISA assay, known amounts of anti-krebs von den lungen 6 antibodies are adsorbed to each plate well. A sample containing krebs von den lungen 6 is added to each well and binds to capture antibodies. Unbound antigen is washed away. Subsequently, a detection antibody solution containing anti-krebs von den lungen 6 antibodies conjugated with horseradish peroxidase is added, forming a complex with the previously bound krebs von den lungen 6 and anti-krebs von den Lungen 6 capture antibodies. Another wash removes unbound detection antibodies, and a chromogenic substrate is added. The amount of bound enzyme varies directly with the concentration of protein in the original test sample, thus the absorbance at 450nm is inversely proportional with the concentration of krebs von den lungen 6 added to each well. The concentration of Krebs Von Den Lungen 6 in the test sample can be derived from a standard curve.
