Other Notes

Small volumes of TLR-4 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS267444 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Toll Like Receptor 4 (TLR-4) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing TLR-4. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS267444 kit is based on TLR-4 antibody-TLR-4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TLR-4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TLR-4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%). Rat Toll Like Receptor 4 (TLR-4) ELISA Kit.

TLR 4 (toll-like receptor 4, CD284, cluster of differentiation 284) is a protein encoded by the TLR4 gene. The molecular weight of TLR 4 is approximately 95 kDa. It is most abundantly expressed in gram-negative bacteria, placenta, and in myelomonocytic subpopulation of the leukocytes. The toll receptor as a family play a key role in the innate immune system
One of the main roles for TLR4 is detection of lipopolysaccharide from Gram-negative bacteria. Thus it is important in the activation of the innate immune system. TLR4 plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity and thus has relevance in multiple diseases and disease states. TLR4 stimulates LY96 (also referred as MD-2) and CD14 to mediate signal transduction events induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS)

The concentration of the testosterone in the test sample can be derived from a standard curve. This high quality assay kit can be used in many research areas. Applications include both western blotting, antibody arrays kits and ELISA development for research purposes. The details of reagents in this kit can be found in the product datasheet

NCBI Summary for TLR-4

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLRs are highly conserved from Drosophila to humans and share structural and functional similarities. They recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns that are expressed on infectious agents, and mediate the production of cytokines necessary for the development of effective immunity. The various TLRs exhibit different patterns of expression. This receptor has been implicated in signal transduction events induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) found in most gram-negative bacteria. Mutations in this gene have been associated with differences in LPS responsiveness. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. UniProt Comments for TLR-4

TLR4: Cooperates with LY96 and CD14 to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Acts via MYD88, TIRAP and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Also involved in LPS- independent inflammatory responses triggered by Ni(2+). These responses require non-conserved histidines and are, therefore, species-specific. Belongs to the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor, a multi-protein complex containing at least CD14, LY96 and TLR4. Binding to bacterial LPS leads to homodimerization. Interacts with LY96 via the extracellular domain. Interacts with MYD88 and TIRAP via their respective TIR domains. Interacts with NOX4. Interacts with CNPY3. Interacts with HSP90B1. The interaction with both CNPY3 and HSP90B1 is required for proper folding in the endoplasmic reticulum. Highly expressed in placenta, spleen and peripheral blood leukocytes. Detected in monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells and several types of T-cells. Belongs to the Toll-like receptor family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
