Other Notes

Small volumes of apo-C1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS282306 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Apolipoprotein C1 (apo-C1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing apo-C1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS282306 kit is based on apo-C1 antibody-apo-C1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect apo-C1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, apo-C1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for apo-C1

The protein encoded by this gene is an adaptor molecule that interacts with various cell surface receptors and mediates cell apoptotic signals. Through its C-terminal death domain, this protein can be recruited by TNFRSF6/Fas-receptor, tumor necrosis factor receptor, TNFRSF25, and TNFSF10/TRAIL-receptor, and thus it participates in the death signaling initiated by these receptors. Interaction of this protein with the receptors unmasks the N-terminal effector domain of this protein, which allows it to recruit caspase-8, and thereby activate the cysteine protease cascade. Knockout studies in mice also suggest the importance of this protein in early T cell development. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for apo-C1

FADD: an adaptor molecule that mediates apoptosis. Recruited through its C-terminal death domain by Fas-receptor, tumor necrosis factor receptor, TNFRSF25, and TRAIL-receptor, participating in the death signaling initiated by these receptors. Interaction with the receptors unmasks the N-terminal effector domain of this protein, which recruits caspase-8, and thereby activates the cysteine protease cascade. Knockout studies in mice also suggest the importance of this protein in early T cell development.
