MBS283941 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily B member 4 (LILRB4) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing LILRB4. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS283941 kit is based on LILRB4 antibody-LILRB4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect LILRB4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, LILRB4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for LILRB4

This gene is a member of the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family, which is found in a gene cluster at chromosomal region 19q13.4. The encoded protein belongs to the subfamily B class of LIR receptors which contain two or four extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and two to four cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs). The receptor is expressed on immune cells where it binds to MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells and transduces a negative signal that inhibits stimulation of an immune response. The receptor can also function in antigen capture and presentation. It is thought to control inflammatory responses and cytotoxicity to help focus the immune response and limit autoreactivity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for LILRB4

LILRB4: Receptor for class I MHC antigens. Recognizes a broad spectrum of HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C and HLA-G alleles. Involved in the down-regulation of the immune response and the development of tolerance, e.g. towards transplants. Interferes with TNFRSF5- signaling and NF-kappa-B up-regulation. Inhibits receptor-mediated phosphorylation of cellular proteins and mobilization of intracellular calcium ions. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, misc.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.42

Cellular Component: extracellular exosome; integral component of membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: antigen binding; protein binding; receptor activity

Biological Process: adaptive immune response; negative regulation of osteoclast differentiation; negative regulation of protein localization to nucleus; negative regulation of T cell receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of regulatory T cell differentiation; signal transduction
