Sialic Acid (SA) ELISA Kit for General

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS2707420

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to SA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled SA and… More details

Sialic Acid (SA), ELISA Kit
Full Product Name
General Sialic Acid (SA) ELISA Kit
Product Gene Name
Species Reactivity
General
Assay Type
Quantitative Competitive
Samples
Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids
Detection Range
61.7-5,000ug/mL
Sensitivity
< 24.4ug/mL
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of SA. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between SA and analogues was observed.
Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level SA were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. CV(%) = SD/meanX100. Inter-Assay: CV<12%
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level SA were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Intra-Assay: CV<10%

Other Notes

Small volumes of SA elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for SA purchase

MBS2707420 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Sialic Acid (SA) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing SA. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2707420 kit is based on SA antibody-SA antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SA antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SA. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for SA

Macrophage-restricted adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to lymphocytes, including granulocytes, monocytes, natural killer cells, B-cells and CD8 T-cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,3-linked sialic acid. Binds to SPN/CD43 on T-cells. May play a role in hemopoiesis (). Acts as an endocytic receptor mediating clathrin dependent endocytosis. In case of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), mediates virion attachment and internalization into alveolar macrophages through a clathrin-coated dependent process.
