Other Notes

Small volumes of TIE2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS036226 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Tek Tyrosine Kinase, Endothelial (TIE2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing TIE2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS036226 kit is based on TIE2 antibody-TIE2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TIE2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TIE2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for TIE2

The TEK receptor tyrosine kinase is expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells in mice, rats, and humans. This receptor possesses a unique extracellular domain containing 2 immunoglobulin-like loops separated by 3 epidermal growth factor-like repeats that are connected to 3 fibronectin type III-like repeats. The ligand for the receptor is angiopoietin-1. Defects in TEK are associated with inherited venous malformations; the TEK signaling pathway appears to be critical for endothelial cell-smooth muscle cell communication in venous morphogenesis. TEK is closely related to the TIE receptor tyrosine kinase. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for TIE2

TIE2: a receptor tyrosine kinase of the Tie family. Receptor for angiopoietin 1. Expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells. May constitute the earliest mammalian endothelial cell lineage marker. Appears to be critical for endothelial cell-smooth muscle cell communication in venous morphogenesis. TEK is closely related to the TIE receptor tyrosine kinase.
