Peptide ELISA:
antibody detection limit dilution 1:64000.
Western blot:
Approx 150kDa band observed in lysates of cell line HEK293 (calculated MW of 134kDa according to Human NP_001127835.2). Preliminary experiments also showed a 150kDa band in lU2OS cell lysate and in Human Smooth Muscle lysate. This molecular weight is routinely observed by other sources. Recommended concentration: 0.3-1?g/ml. Primary incubation 1 hour at room temperature.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-RBM20 antibody

(0.3ug/ml) staining of HEK293 cell lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer) Detected by chemiluminescence.

NCBI Summary for RBM20

This gene encodes a protein that binds RNA and regulates splicing. Mutations in this gene have been associated with familial dilated cardiomyopathy. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]

UniProt Comments for RBM20

RBM20: RNA-binding protein that acts as a regulator of mRNA splicing of a subset of genes involved in cardiac development. Regulates splicing of TTN (Titin). Defects in RBM20 are the cause of cardiomyopathy dilated type 1DD (CMD1DD). A disorder characterized by ventricular dilation and impaired systolic function, resulting in congestive heart failure and arrhythmia. Patients are at risk of premature death.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q25.2

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: nucleotide binding; RNA binding; zinc ion binding

Biological Process: heart development; mRNA processing; positive regulation of RNA splicing; RNA splicing

Disease: Cardiomyopathy, Dilated, 1dd
