Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) of anti-LGR5 antibody

Fig.1: FACS analysis of BOSC23 cells using BEE-6F7. BOSC23 cells were transiently transfected with an expression vector encoding either LGR5-hum (green curve), or an irrelevant protein (control transfectant (red curve). Binding of BEE-6F7 was detected with a PE-conjugated secondary antibody. A positive signal was obtained only with LGR5-hum transfected cells.

NCBI Summary for LGR5

The protein encoded by this gene is a leucine-rich repeat-containing receptor (LGR) and member of the G protein-coupled, 7-transmembrane receptor (GPCR) superfamily. The encoded protein is a receptor for R-spondins and is involved in the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. This protein plays a role in the formation and maintenance of adult intestinal stem cells during postembryonic development. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

UniProt Comments for LGR5

LGR5: a leucine-rich repeat-containing G-protein-coupled receptor. Receptor for R-spondins, potent stimulators of adult stem cell proliferation. A marker of cycling, long-lived and multipotent adult stem cell populations. Target gene of Wnt signaling. A Wnt receptor component that enhances Wnt signaling by soluble R-spondin proteins. Intestinal Lgr5+ stem cells give rise throughout life to proliferation of cells in crypts, which migrate along the crypt-villus axis, differentiating into five main cell types. Wnt signaling plays a crucial role in the proliferation and differentiation of these crypt epithelial cells. Two isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
