Plexin A1 (Sema Domain) (PLXNA1) Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS472055

Plexins are a family of large integral membrane proteins that complex with neuropilins to form semaphorin co-receptors. The extracellular region of plexins contains a semaphorin domain, multiple glycine-rich motifs, and MET-related sequences. The cytoplasmic… More details

Rabbit polyclonal, affinity-purified antibody is supplied in 100 ml phosphate-buffered saline, 50% glycerol, 1 mg/ml BSA, and 0.05% sodium azide.
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified
Specificity
The antibody detects a 220 kDa* protein corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of Plexin-A1 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of adult mouse brain and Cos-7 cells transfected with mouse Plexin-A1. In immunocytochemistry, this antibody co-localizes with anti-Myc in Cos-7 cells transfected with Myc-tagged mouse Plexin-A1.

601055
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q6ZTY7
Immunogen
Plexin-A1 synthetic peptide (coupled to carrier protein) corresponding to a region within the semaphorin domain in human Plexin-A1. This sequence is highly conserved in rat and mouse Plexin-A1, and has low homology to other Plexin family members.

UniProt Comments for PLXNA1

PLXNA1: Coreceptor for SEMA3A, SEMA3C, SEMA3F and SEMA6D. Necessary for signaling by class 3 semaphorins and subsequent remodeling of the cytoskeleton. Plays a role in axon guidance, invasive growth and cell migration. Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex composed of a neuropilin and a plexin. The plexin modulates the affinity of the complex for specific semaphorins, and its cytoplasmic domain is required for the activation of down- stream signaling events in the cytoplasm. Interacts directly with NRP1 and NRP2. Interacts with FARP2, RND1 and KDR/VEGFR2. Binding of SEMA3A leads to dissociation of FARP2. Detected in fetal brain, lung, liver and kidney. Belongs to the plexin family.
