Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
NMDA NR2A Subunit (100 ul) (GRIN2A), Polyclonal Antibody
Full Product Name
Anti-NMDA Receptor, NR2A Subunit
Product Gene Name
Clonality
Polyclonal
Form/Format
100 ul in 10 mM HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 ug BSA per ml and 50% glycerol. Adequate amount of material to conduct 10-mini Western Blots.
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified (Prepared from rabbit serum by affinity purification using a column to which the fusion protein immunogen was coupled)
Specificity
Specific for the ~180k NR2A subunit of the NMDA receptor. Recognizes human, mouse and rat forms of the NR2A subunit of NMDAR. No reactivity towards the NR2B and NR2C subunits. Immunolabeling is blocked by pre-adsorption of antibody with the fusion protein used to generate the antibody.
Preparation and Storage
For long term storage -80°C is recommended, but shorter term storage at -20°C is also acceptable as aliquots be taken without freeze/thawing due to the presence of 50% glycerol. Solutions are stable for a minimum of up to 1 year at -20°C.
Chromosome Location
Chromosome: 10; NC_005109.3 (4523233..4940912). Location: 10q11
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q00959
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-GRIN2A antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Dot Blots (DB), ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-GRIN2A antibody
Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot.

WB: 1:1000
IHC: 1:1000
IP: 6 ul per 200 ug lysate

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-GRIN2A antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

may play a role in synaptic transmission, learning and memory [RGD, Feb 2006]

UniProt Comments for GRIN2A

Function: NMDA receptor subtype of glutamate-gated ion channels possesses high calcium permeability and voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium. Activation requires binding of agonist to both types of subunits.

Subunit structure: Forms heteromeric channel of a zeta subunit (GRIN1), a epsilon subunit (GRIN2A, GRIN2B, GRIN2C or GRIN2D) and a third subunit (GRIN3A or GRIN3B). Found in a complex with GRIN1, GRIN3A and PPP2CB. Interacts with AIP1. Found in a complex with GRIN1 and GRIN3B. Interacts with HIP1 and NETO1. Interacts with SNX27 (via PDZ domain); the interaction is required for recycling to the plasma membrane when endocytosed and prevent degradation in lysosomes

By similarity. Interacts with PDZ domains of INADL and DLG4. Interacts with LRFN2. Ref.5 Ref.6 Ref.7 Ref.8 Ref.9 Ref.10 Ref.11 Ref.12

Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cell junction › synapse › postsynaptic cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein Ref.8.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the glutamate-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.10.1) family. NR2A/GRIN2A subfamily. [View classification]
