CXCR7 Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS601840

The G protein-coupled receptor, RDC1, belongs to a subgroup of chemokine receptors and has been designated CXCR7. CXCR7 can bind with high-affinity to CXCL12/SDF-1 and CXCL11/I-TAC. It is also a co-receptor for several HIV and SIV strains. In their N-termini… More details

Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Names
Anti -CXCR7 (C-X-C Chemokine Receptor 7, Chemokine Orphan Receptor 1, RDC-1) (PE)
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG2a
Clone Number

Host
Mouse
Species Reactivity
Human
Form/Format
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.5% BSA, 0.1% sodium azide. Labeled with R-Phycoerythrin (PE).
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human CXCR7. Reacts specifically as detected by Flow Cytometry with five distinct human CXCR7 transfectants, but not their respective parental lines. Also reacts with monocytes expression of CXCR7. Does not react with MCF-7 cells by Flow Cytometry, which have been reported to have surface-expressing CXCR7 using C8376-26. Due to the conflicting reports published, use of monoclonal C8376-25 may result in an underestimation of CXCR7 expression on certain cell types.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degree C as an undiluted liquid. Stable for at least 12 months at 4 degree C. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light.
Molecular Weight
41,493 Da
Chromosome Location
Chromosome: 2; NC_000002.11 (237478380..237490997). Location: 2q37.3

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CXCR7 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CXCR7

This gene encodes a member of the G-protein coupled receptor family. Although this protein was earlier thought to be a receptor for vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), it is now considered to be an orphan receptor, in that its endogenous ligand has not been identified. The protein is also a coreceptor for human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV). Translocations involving this gene and HMGA2 on chromosome 12 have been observed in lipomas. [provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Comments for CXCR7

CMKOR1: Receptor for chemokines CXCL12/SDF1 and CXCL11. Does not elicit classical chemokine receptor signaling; chemokine binding does not activate G-protein-mediated signal transduction but instead induces beta-arrestin recruitment, leading to ligand internalization and activation of MAPK signaling pathway. Acts as a scavenger for CXCL12/SDF1 and, to a lesser extent, for CXCL11. Required for regulation of CXCR4 protein levels in migrating interneurons, thereby adapting their chemokine responsiveness. In glioma cells, transduces signals via MEK/ERK pathway, mediating resistance to apoptosis. Promotes cell growth and survival. Not involved in cell migration, adhesion or proliferation of normal hematopoietic progenitors but activated by CXCL11 in malignant hemapoietic cells, leading to phosphorylation of ERK1/2 (MAPK3/MAPK1) and enhanced cell adhesion and migration. Plays a regulatory role in CXCR4-mediated activation of cell surface integrins by CXCL12. Required for heart valve development. Acts as coreceptor with CXCR4 for a restricted number of HIV isolates. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.
