If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for PEAK1 purchase

The 190 kD protein Pseudopodium enriched atypical kinase 1 (PEAK1) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that interacts with the actin portion of the cytoskeleton. It is believed to play a role in cell spreading, migration, and proliferation through phosphorylation of cytoskeleton- associated proteins. PEAK1 plays a pivotal role in regulating the formation of focal adhesions during cell migration. PEAK1 acts downstream of integrin and EGFR signaling and is itself tyrosine phosphorylated via the Src pathway. Altering the PEAK1 levels in cancer cells increases the anchorage-independent cell growth and causes tumor progression in mice. As PEAK1 levels are elevated in human colon cancer and pancreatic cancer cells, this protein is a possible target for cancer therapy.
This affinity purified mouse anti human PEAK1 monoclonal antibody is suitable for ELISA, western blot, and immunofluorescence applications. The anti PEAK1 antibody is specific for human PEAK1 and shows no species crossreactivity.

NCBI Summary for PEAK1

This gene encodes a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that is a member of the new kinase family three (NFK3) family. In migrating cells, the encoded protein is associated with the actin cytoskeleton and focal adhesions and promotes developing focal adhesion elongation. This protein may play a role in the regulation of cell migration, proliferation and cancer metastasis. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]

UniProt Comments for PEAK1

Function: Tyrosine kinase that may play a role in cell spreading and migration on fibronectin. May directly or indirectly affect phosphorylation levels of cytoskeleton-associated proteins MAPK1/ERK and PXN. Ref.7

Catalytic activity: ATP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine = ADP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine phosphate. Ref.7

Subunit structure: Interacts with BCAR1 and CRK. Ref.7

Subcellular location: Cytoplasm › cytoskeleton. Cell junction › focal adhesion. Note: Colocalizes with F-actin in serum-rich medium. Actin colocalization is reduced during serum starvation. Ref.7

Post-translational modification: Phosphorylated on tyrosine in a CSK-dependent manner in response to adhesion to fibronectin and to EGF stimulation. Autophosphorylated in vitro. Ref.7

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily.Contains 1 protein kinase domain.

Sequence caution: The sequence BAB15006.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. The sequence BAC87076.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.
