blc Active Protein

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS650892

BCA-1/BLC, a CXC chemokine, is expressed in the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, appendix and stomach. It exerts its activities through its only receptor CXCR5. BCA-1/BLC is a potent chemoattractant for B lymphocytes and induces weak chemotactic response in T… More details

Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
BLC, Active Protein
Full Product Name
BLC, Recombinant, Mouse (B-lymphocyte Chemoattractant, Mouse Equivalent of Human B Cell-Attracting Chemokine-1, BCA-1, CXCL13)
Product Gene Name
Form/Format
Supplied as a sterile filtered lyophilized powder, carrier free. Reconstitute in sterile, ddH2O, 0.1-1% BSA to 0.5-1mg/mL. Further dilutions should be made in aqueous buffers.
Purity/Purification
Highly Purified
~98% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). Purified by sequential chromatography.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile ddH2O, 0.1-1% BSA. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

NC_013956.2 (477837..478361, complement)
Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Biological Activity
The biological activity was determined by measuring dose-dependent chemotaxis with murine B lymphocytes. A concentration range of 10-100ng/ml produced significant chemotaxis. BLC, a CXC chemokine, regulates B cell migration to and within lymphoid follicles in most secondary lymphoid organs. The receptor for BLC is CXCR5.
Endotoxin Level
0.1ng/ug

Other Notes

Small volumes of blc active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
