Amies Broth with Charcoal is a non-nutritional, phosphate buffered type medium used to maintain the viability of microorganisms without a significant increase in growth. Charcoal was added to the formulation to neutralize the toxic effects of a fatty acids that are toxic to microorganisms. This medium is recommended for throat, vaginal, and wound samples.

Small volumes of Amies Broth with Charcoal culture media vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
