Other Notes

Small volumes of IL-2sRa elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS734371 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Soluble Interleukin 2a receptor (IL-2sRa) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing IL-2sRa. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS734371 kit is based on IL-2sRa antibody-IL-2sRa antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect IL-2sRa antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, IL-2sRa. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for IL-2sRa

The interleukin 2 (IL2) receptor alpha (IL2RA) and beta (IL2RB) chains, together with the common gamma chain (IL2RG), constitute the high-affinity IL2 receptor. Homodimeric alpha chains (IL2RA) result in low-affinity receptor, while homodimeric beta (IL2RB) chains produce a medium-affinity receptor. Normally an integral-membrane protein, soluble IL2RA has been isolated and determined to result from extracellular proteolyisis. Alternately-spliced IL2RA mRNAs have been isolated, but the significance of each is presently unknown. Mutations in this gene are associated with interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

UniProt Comments for IL-2sRa

IL2RA: Receptor for interleukin-2. Non-covalent dimer of an alpha and a beta subunit. IL2R exists in 3 different forms: a high affinity dimer, an intermediate affinity monomer (beta subunit), and a low affinity monomer (alpha subunit). The high and intermediate affinity forms also associate with a gamma subunit.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10p15-p14

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: interleukin-2 receptor activity; drug binding; interleukin-2 binding

Biological Process: cell proliferation; Notch signaling pathway; regulation of T cell homeostatic proliferation; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; inflammatory response to antigenic stimulus; negative regulation of T cell proliferation; positive regulation of T cell differentiation; apoptosis; negative regulation of inflammatory response; negative regulation of immune response; immune response; negative regulation of defense response to virus; inflammatory response; positive regulation of activated T cell proliferation; activated T cell apoptosis
