Other Notes

Small volumes of ADAM12 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS764756 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 12 (ADAM12) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ADAM12. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS764756 kit is based on ADAM12 antibody-ADAM12 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ADAM12 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ADAM12. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for ADAM12

This gene encodes a member of a family of proteins that are structurally related to snake venom disintegrins and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. Expression of this gene has been used as a maternal serum marker for pre-natal development. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Shorter isoforms are secreted, while longer isoforms are membrane-bound form. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]

UniProt Comments for ADAM12

ADAM12: contains a disintegrin and metalloprotease (ADAM) domain 12, which is a member of the ADAM protein family. Involved in skeletal muscle regeneration, specifically at the onset of cell fusion, and the differentiation of macrophage-derived giant cells (MGC) and osteoclasts. 2 alternative splicing isoforms have been described: a shorter secreted form and a longer membrane-bound form. The shorter form stimulates myogenesis.
