Testing Data of anti-AURKB antibody

Image: HeLa cell cultures were stained with Aurora B kinase antibody (green). Aurora B stains midzones in anaphase and midbodies between the two daughter cells during telophase. It is therefore a useful marker of dividing cells. Counterstained is our chicken polyclonal antibody against Vimentin, (red). Blue is a DNA stain.

Testing Data of anti-AURKB antibody

Image: Left: Western blot analysis of Aurora B in HeLa cells. Blot of HeLa cells treated with 100ng/ml nocodazole for 18 hours was probed with Aurora B. Nocodazole is a microtubule polymerization inhibitor which induces cells to halt at the G2/M phase and also induces Aurora B expression. The Aurora B monoclonal binds strongly to aurora B at 38 kDa. Right: Blot of recombinant human Aurora A, B and C were probed with MBS555614. This antibody binds specifically to Aurora B. This is also consisted with the immunocytochemical staining of midzones and midbodies on HeLa cells.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-AURKB antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for AURKB

AurB: a member of the AUR family of kinases. May be directly involved in regulating the cleavage of polar spindle microtubules and is a key regulator for the onset of cytokinesis during mitosis. Expressed during S and G2/M phase and expression is upregulated in cancer cells during M phase. Localized to the midzone of central spindle in late anaphase and concentrated into the midbody in telophase and cytokinesis. Colocalizes with gamma tubulin in the mid-body. Component of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), a complex that acts as a key regulator of mitosis. The CPC complex has essential functions at the centromere in ensuring correct chromosome alignment and segregation and is required for chromatin-induced microtubule stabilization and spindle assembly. Overexpressed in colorectal and other cancer cell lines and thought to cause aneuploidy via histone phosphorylation.
