CCND3 Antibody – Mouse

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS850720

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members are characterized by a dramatic periodicity in protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclins function as regulators of CDK kinases. Different cyclins exhibit… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CCND3 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

In the pathway to cancer, unregulated cell growth is an initial hallmark event. The cell cycle is a tightly regulated and coordinated interplay of specific cyclin (CCND) and kinase CDK interactions. Cyclin D3 CCND3 and it's kinase CDK4 are critical regulators in the signaling pathway leading to exit from G1 to S in a G1 specific cyclin manner. To facilitate research into this important biological process, a mouse monoclonal antibody is available for use in western blot or ELISA to detect human or mouse with cross species reactivity projected to be high based on CCND3 gene homology (rabbit or rat). This antibody is derived from a human recombinant protein from a custom E. coli expression cassette found in 1 publication CCND3 and is validated to detect proteins in the 10 ng range, showing significant improvement over rat CCND3 antibodies and more consistent antibody production for a quality product.

UniProt Comments for CCND3

Regulatory component of the cyclin D3-CDK4 (DC) complex that phosphorylates and inhibits members of the retinoblastoma (RB) protein family including RB1 and regulates the cell-cycle during G1/S transition. Phosphorylation of RB1 allows dissociation of the transcription factor E2F from the RB/E2F complex and the subsequent transcription of E2F target genes which are responsible for the progression through the G1 phase. Hypophosphorylates RB1 in early G1 phase. Cyclin D-CDK4 complexes are major integrators of various mitogenenic and antimitogenic signals. Also substrate for SMAD3, phosphorylating SMAD3 in a cell-cycle-dependent manner and repressing its transcriptional activity. Component of the ternary complex, cyclin D3/CDK4/CDKN1B, required for nuclear translocation and activity of the cyclin D-CDK4 complex.
