Other Notes

Small volumes of TPI1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS901437 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the triosephosphate isomerase 1 (TPI1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing TPI1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS901437 kit is based on TPI1 antibody-TPI1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TPI1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TPI1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for TPI1

This gene encodes an enzyme, consisting of two identical proteins, which catalyzes the isomerization of glyceraldehydes 3-phosphate (G3P) and dihydroxy-acetone phosphate (DHAP) in glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. Mutations in this gene are associated with triosephosphate isomerase deficiency. Pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 1, 4, 6 and 7. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]

UniProt Comments for TPI1

TPI1: Defects in TPI1 are the cause of triosephosphate isomerase deficiency (TPI deficiency). TPI deficiency is an autosomal recessive disorder. It is the most severe clinical disorder of glycolysis. It is associated with neonatal jaundice, chronic hemolytic anemia, progressive neuromuscular dysfunction, cardiomyopathy and increased susceptibility to infection. Belongs to the triosephosphate isomerase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative promoter.

Protein type: Carbohydrate Metabolism - inositol phosphate; EC 5.3.1.1; Isomerase; Carbohydrate Metabolism - fructose and mannose; Carbohydrate Metabolism - glycolysis and gluconeogenesis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12p13

Cellular Component: extracellular space; cytosol; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; triose-phosphate isomerase activity
