Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
SGEF (ARHGEF26), Blocking Peptide
Full Product Name
SGEF Antibody (Center) Blocking peptide
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Gene Name
SGEF
Product Synonym Names
Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor 26; SH3 domain-containing guanine exchange factor; ARHGEF26; SGEF
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the Center region of SGEF. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Antibody/Peptide Pairs
SGEF peptide (MBS9219838) is used for blocking the activity of SGEF antibody (MBS9203156)
Molecular Weight
88,134 Da
Cellular Location
Cell projection, ruffle
Tissue Location
Isoform 1 is broadly expressed, with highest levels in liver (at protein level). Certain mRNA species appear to be specifically expressed in prostate and liver

Other Notes

Small volumes of ARHGEF26 blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for ARHGEF26

This gene encodes a member of the Rho-guanine nucleotide exchange factor (Rho-GEF) family. These proteins regulate Rho GTPases by catalyzing the exchange of GDP for GTP. The encoded protein specifically activates RhoG and plays a role in the promotion of macropinocytosis. Underexpression of the encoded protein may be a predictive marker of chemoresistant disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

UniProt Comments for ARHGEF26

SGEF: Activates RhoG GTPase by promoting the exchange of GDP by GTP. Required for the formation of membrane ruffles during macropinocytosis. Required for the formation of cup-like structures during trans-endothelial migration of leukocytes. In case of Salmonella enterica infection, activated by SopB, which induces cytoskeleton rearrangements and promotes bacterial entry. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: GEFs; GEFs, Rac/Rho

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q25.2
