Product Name
AMBP, Blocking Peptide
Full Product Name
AMBP Antibody (N-term) Blocking peptide
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Gene Name
HCP; ITIL
Product Synonym Names
Protein AMBP; Alpha-1-microglobulin; Protein HC; Alpha-1 microglycoprotein; Complex-forming glycoprotein heterogeneous in charge; Inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor light chain; ITI-LC; Bikunin; EDC1; HI-30; Uronic-acid-rich protein; Trypstatin; AMBP; HCP; ITIL
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of AMBP. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Antibody/Peptide Pairs
AMBP peptide (MBS9220175) is used for blocking the activity of AMBP antibody (MBS9210145)

Cellular Location
Secreted.
Tissue Location
Expressed by the liver and secreted in plasma. Alpha-1-microglobulin occurs in many physiological fluids including plasma, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid. Inter-alpha- trypsin inhibitor is present in plasma and urine

Other Notes

Small volumes of AMBP blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for AMBP

This gene encodes a complex glycoprotein secreted in plasma. The precursor is proteolytically processed into distinct functioning proteins: alpha-1-microglobulin, which belongs to the superfamily of lipocalin transport proteins and may play a role in the regulation of inflammatory processes, and bikunin, which is a urinary trypsin inhibitor belonging to the superfamily of Kunitz-type protease inhibitors and plays an important role in many physiological and pathological processes. This gene is located on chromosome 9 in a cluster of lipocalin genes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
