Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
Cdkn1b, Blocking Peptide
Full Product Name
Mouse Cdkn1b Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Names
Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B; Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p27; p27Kip1; Cdkn1b
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Antibody/Peptide Pairs
Cdkn1b peptide (MBS9223606) is used for blocking the activity of Cdkn1b antibody (MBS9213752)
Molecular Weight
22,193 Da
Cellular Location
Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Endosome. Note: Nuclear and cytoplasmic in quiescent cells. AKT- or RSK-mediated phosphorylation on Thr-197, binds 14-3-3, translocates to the cytoplasm and promotes cell cycle progression. Mitogen-activated UHMK1 phosphorylation on Ser-10 also results in translocation to the cytoplasm and cell cycle progression. Phosphorylation on Ser- 10 facilitates nuclear export. Translocates to the nucleus on phosphorylation of Tyr-88 and Tyr-89 (By similarity). Colocalizes at the endosome with SNX6; this leads to lysosomal degradation

Other Notes

Small volumes of Cdkn1b blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for Cdkn1b

p27Kip1: a cell-cycle regulatory protein that Interacts with cyclin-CDK2 and -CDK4, inhibiting cell cycle progression at G1. May mediate TGF beta-induced g1 arrest. Its degradation is triggered by its CDK dependent phosphorylation and subsequent ubiquitination by SCF complexes, is required for the cellular transition from quiescence to the proliferative state.
