Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
CTSE, Blocking Peptide
Full Product Name
CTSE Antibody (Center) Blocking Peptide
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Names
Cathepsin E; Cathepsin E form I; Cathepsin E form II; CTSE
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the Center region of human CTSE. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Antibody/Peptide Pairs
CTSE peptide (MBS9226162) is used for blocking the activity of CTSE antibody (MBS9203958)
Molecular Weight
39,553 Da
OMIM
116890
Cellular Location
Endosome. Note: The proenzyme is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, while the mature enzyme is localized to the endosome
Tissue Location
Expressed abundantly in the stomach, the Clara cells of the lung and activated B-lymphocytes, and at lower levels in lymph nodes, skin and spleen. Not expressed in resting B- lymphocytes.

Other Notes

Small volumes of CTSE blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CTSE

This gene encodes a member of the A1 family of peptidases. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. At least one of these variants encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate the mature enzyme. This enzyme, an aspartic endopeptidase, may be involved in antigen processing and the maturation of secretory proteins. Elevated expression of this gene has been observed in neurodegeneration.
