Widely expressed.

Other Notes

Small volumes of Prkx blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for Prkx

PRKX: Serine/threonine protein kinase regulated by and mediating cAMP signaling in cells. Acts through phosphorylation of downstream targets that may include CREB, SMAD6 and PKD1 and has multiple functions in cellular differentiation and epithelial morphogenesis. Regulates myeloid cell differentiation through SMAD6 phosphorylation. Involved in nephrogenesis by stimulating renal epithelial cell migration and tubulogenesis. Also involved in angiogenesis through stimulation of endothelial cell proliferation, migration and vascular-like structure formation. A chromosomal aberration involving PRKX is a cause of sex reversal disorder. Translocation t(X;Y)(p22;p11) with PRKY. Chromosomal translocations proximal to PRKY account for about 30% of the cases of sex reversal disorder in XX males and XY females. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. AGC Ser/Thr protein kinase family. cAMP subfamily.

Protein type: EC 2.7.11.1; Protein kinase, AGC; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Kinase, protein; AGC group; PKA family

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: cAMP-dependent protein kinase activity; protein serine/threonine kinase activity

Biological Process: angiogenesis; cell adhesion; cell-substrate adhesion; endothelial cell migration; endothelial cell proliferation; myeloid cell differentiation; peptidyl-serine phosphorylation; protein amino acid autophosphorylation; regulation of cell adhesion; regulation of cell migration
