Product Name
REPS2, Blocking Peptide
Full Product Name
REPS2 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Gene Name
POB1
Product Synonym Names
RalBP1-associated Eps domain-containing protein 2; Partner of RalBP1; RalBP1-interacting protein 2; REPS2; POB1
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of REPS2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Antibody/Peptide Pairs
REPS2 peptide (MBS9219684) is used for blocking the activity of REPS2 antibody (MBS9211730)
Molecular Weight
71,405 Da
OMIM
300317
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm.
Tissue Location
Expressed at high levels in the cerebrum, cerebellum, lung, kidney, and testis. Weakly expressed in the kidney. Relatively highly expressed in androgen-dependent as compared to androgen-independent prostate cancer cell lines and xenografts. Isoform 2 is down-regulated during progression of prostate cancer

Other Notes

Small volumes of REPS2 blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for REPS2

The product of this gene is part of a protein complex that regulates the endocytosis of growth factor receptors. The encoded protein directly interacts with a GTPase activating protein that functions downstream of the small G protein Ral. Its expression can negatively affect receptor internalization and inhibit growth factor signaling. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. UniProt Comments for REPS2

REPS2: an adaptor protein involved in growth factor signaling through its influence on the Ral, a small G protein that regulates endocytosis of EGF and insulin receptors. Interacts with DDEF1, paxillin, RALBP1 and GRB2. Binding to RALBP1 does not affect the Ral-binding activity of the latter. Forms a ternary complex with activated Ral and RALBP1. Binds epsin 1. Relatively highly expressed in androgen-dependent as compared to androgen-independent prostate cancer cell lines and xenografts. EGF receptor internalization and signalling is inhibited by increased expression of REPS2. EGF stimulates phosphorylation on Tyr-residues and induces complex formation with EGF receptor through an adapter protein such as GRB2. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. Isoform 2 is down-regulated during progression of prostate cancer.

Protein type: G protein regulator, misc.; Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xp22.2

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: epidermal growth factor receptor signaling pathway; protein complex assembly
