SIGLEC10 Antibody (C-Term) Blocking Peptide

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS9221592

Putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,3- or alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface.… More details

Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Gene Name
SLG2
Product Synonym Names
Sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 10; Siglec-10; Siglec-like protein 2; SIGLEC10; SLG2
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of human SIGLEC10. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.

Cellular Location
Isoform 1: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein Isoform 3: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein Isoform 5: Secreted.
Tissue Location
Expressed by peripheral blood leukocytes (eosinophils, monocytes and a natural killer cell subpopulation) Isoform 5 is found to be the most abundant isoform. Found in lymph node, lung, ovary and appendix. Isoform 1 is found at high levels and isoform 2 at lower levels in bone marrow, spleen and spinal chord. Isoform 2 is also found in brain. Isoform 4 is specifically found in natural killer cells

Other Notes

Small volumes of SIGLEC10 blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for SIGLEC10

SIGLECs are members of the immunoglobulin superfamily that are expressed on the cell surface. Most SIGLECs have 1 or more cytoplasmic immune receptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs, or ITIMs. SIGLECs are typically expressed on cells of the innate immune system, with the exception of the B-cell expressed SIGLEC6 (MIM 604405).[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2002]

UniProt Comments for SIGLEC10

Siglec-10: a cell surface protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily and the SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family. Most SIGLECs have 1 or more cytoplasmic immune receptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs, or ITIMs. Putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Preferentially binds to alpha2,3- or 2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. SIGLECs are typically expressed on cells of the innate immune system, with the exception of the B-cell expressed SIGLEC6. In the immune response, may act as an inhibitory receptor upon ligand induced tyrosine phosphorylation by recruiting cytoplasmic phosphatase(s) via their SH2 domain(s) that block signal transduction through dephosphorylation of signaling molecules. Five alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.3
