Mouse TLR6 Antibody (N-Term) Blocking Peptide

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS9221310

Participates in the innate immune response to Gram- positive bacteria and fungi. Specifically recognizes diacylated and, to a lesser extent, triacylated lipopeptides. Acts via MYD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the… More details

Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
TLR6, Blocking Peptide
Full Product Name
Mouse TLR6 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Names
Toll-like receptor 6; CD286; Tlr6
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of human Mouse TLR6. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Antibody/Peptide Pairs
TLR6 peptide (MBS9221310) is used for blocking the activity of TLR6 antibody (MBS9205577)
Molecular Weight
91,116 Da
Cellular Location
Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Cytoplasmic vesicle, phagosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Note: Upon complex formation with CD36 and TLR4, internalized through dynamin-dependent endocytosis
Tissue Location
Detected in thymus, spleen, ovary and lung.

Other Notes

Small volumes of Tlr6 blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for Tlr6

TLR6: Participates in the innate immune response to Gram- positive bacteria and fungi. Acts via MYD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Recognizes mycoplasmal macrophage-activating lipopeptide-2kD (MALP-2), soluble tuberculosis factor (STF), phenol-soluble modulin (PSM) and B.burgdorferi outer surface protein A lipoprotein (OspA-L) cooperatively with TLR2. Belongs to the Toll-like receptor family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, misc.

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; integral to plasma membrane; lipid raft

Molecular Function: diacylated lipoprotein binding; protein heterodimerization activity; transmembrane receptor activity

Biological Process: defense response to bacterium; detection of diacylated bacterial lipoprotein; inflammatory response; interleukin-1 beta secretion; microglial cell activation; nitric oxide metabolic process; positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; positive regulation of interleukin-6 biosynthetic process; positive regulation of JNK activity; response to bacterial lipoprotein; T-helper 1 type immune response; toll-like receptor signaling pathway
