Other Notes

Small volumes of CLEC4E elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS2502611 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the CLEC4E, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CLEC4E. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2502611 kit is based on CLEC4E antibody-CLEC4E antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CLEC4E antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CLEC4E. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CLEC4E

This gene encodes a member of the C-type lectin/C-type lectin-like domain (CTL/CTLD) superfamily. Members of this family share a common protein fold and have diverse functions, such as cell adhesion, cell-cell signalling, glycoprotein turnover, and roles in inflammation and immune response. The encoded type II transmembrane protein is a downstream target of CCAAT/enhancer binding protein (C/EBP), beta (CEBPB) and may play a role in inflammation. Alternative splice variants have been described but their full-length sequence has not been determined. This gene is closely linked to other CTL/CTLD superfamily members on chromosome 12p13 in the natural killer gene complex region. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for CLEC4E

CLEC4E: C-type lectin that functions as cell-surface receptor for a wide variety of ligands such as damaged cells, fungi and mycobacteria. Plays a role in the recognition of pathogenic fungi, such as Candida albicans. The detection of mycobacteria is via trehalose 6,6'-dimycolate (TDM), a cell wall glycolipid. Specifically recognizes alpha-mannose residues on pathogenic fungi of the genus Malassezia. Recognizes also SAP130, a nuclear protein, that is released by dead or dying cells. Transduces signals through an ITAM-containing adapter protein, Fc receptor gamma chain /FCER1G. Induces secretion of inflammatory cytokines through a pathway that depends on SYK, CARD9 and NF-kappa-B.

Protein type: Receptor, misc.; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12p13.31

Cellular Component: integral to membrane

Molecular Function: receptor activity; carbohydrate binding

Biological Process: immune response; positive regulation of cytokine secretion
